Twisted Sisters-Birthday Edition

Twisted Sisters-Birthday Edition

Today, my sister and celebrated in Stillwater. We borrowed this balloon from another birthday party at P.D. Pappy’s, they were nice enough to share.

Twisted Sisters (on vacation)

So the whole family recently returned from a vacation together and yes, we are ALL still alive. It was nice to get away but unfortunately, the weather was cold and rainy and there was a rock crusher running across the street from our cabin. Chris named said rock crusher, “Crushinator” after a Futurama character. Crushinator ran from 5 in the morning until 11 at night and not even hurricane like winds would stop it! Okay, on to the photos!

This photo was taken at Hughie’s Taco House, it’s home of the “Puff Taco.” Yum! I believe my sister just said something to insult me…Now, I have the photographic evidence.

On the last day of our vacation, we parked it in these comfy chairs in front of the Lutsen Resort Lodge right after breakfast. As you can see it was rainy and gray and neither Colleen or I had brushed our hair.

Despite less than ideal vacation circumstances (cold weather and the Crushinator,) we still had fun, I got beat in every game of Yahtzee and Monopoly we played, the family still got to explore Grand Marais and also have some delicious food (tacos, pizza and doughnuts.) I am looking forward to our next trip there!

Twisted Sisters

Once again, I am embarking on a new project.  This one is called “Twisted Sisters.” It is a collection of sisterly self-portraits. My sister, Colleen and I have been looking for a project to do together for a while now…

For most of our lives people have questioned if we are really related, so the caption on this one is, “Yes, yes, we’re really sisters.”  For example, we worked at a grocery store together all through high school and college.  I worked in the bakery and Colleen was a cashier, yogurt dispenser, coffee maker, part-time manager and some other stuff I’ve probably forgotten. Well, back to the point; some of our co-workers didn’t believe we were sisters, even after working with both of us for years.

Maybe it’s because we look so different. Maybe it’s because I’m a bit of a wallflower and she is more of a social butterfly. Also, I am a science nerd and she is, well, not.  Despite our extreme differences, we are actually more alike; we sound identical, often dress the same and we call each other at the same time. Like most things family-related, It is a little disturbing sometimes.  We usually have to call each other before going somewhere together just to be certain we’re not wearing the same outfit.  Don’t laugh, it’s happened…more than once…this week.
