My strawberry patch was in a quarter of a raised bed and it has almost taken it over. The plants have also sent new plants over the edges and into the nature preserve. Not that I mind the strawberries are spreading.
Elisabeth and I picked berries, actually I picked while she ate her weight in strawberries.
I love the juice stained face, it’s so cute.
We even had a couple of helpers.
Most of the berries were really ripe, so ripe that if I didn’t use them today, they only would’ve been good for the compost heap.
There were plenty of berries for a batch of strawberry jam AND strawberry rhubarb jam. I spent the evening canning and Elisabeth watched from her playpen. She wanted to see everything I was doing.
I think she’s going to be a good little helper someday.
